Rob was born in Salt Lake City and graduated from Murray High. He received his Bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in Business Management/Finance, with minors in Accounting and Economics. He received his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Utah, with an emphasis in Financial Management and Entrepreneurship. He received his Juris Doctor (JD) from Concord Law School with an emphasis in Taxation and Debtor-Creditor law. He is an adjunct professor at DeVry University and Keller Graduate School of Management and loves to teach.

In addition to being a Principal Lending Manager and Mortgage Originator at Rob Haertel Inc., Rob is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) specializing in federal taxation, Real Estate Agent, and a life and health insurance agent.

Rob enjoys doing tax consulting and expert witness work in the mortgage industry. He speaks fluent Spanish and loves to learn, teach, and serve others. He has served two missions in Guadalajara, Mexico, one in Chile, and has served on various boards for nonprofit organizations.
